The Best of NeoCon and HiP Awards represent important international recognition not only for individual products, but also for the Revisiting Richter project, through which Prostoria has brought the furniture designs of Vjenceslav Richter into contemporary production for the first time. Both awards were presented during NeoCon, the leading furniture and interiors trade fair in the United States, where the Richter Collection celebrated its U.S. premiere this week.
The Best of NeoCon 2026 Innovation Award was granted to the VR61 product family, which includes the VR61 Easy Chair based on Vjenceslav Richter's original 1961 design for the Yugoslav Pavilion at the Italia '61 exhibition in Turin, as well as the VR61 Lounge Chair, designed by Richter+ in collaboration with Prostoria. Developed more than six decades after the original, the lounge version represents a contemporary continuation of Richter's concept, adapted to today's expectations of comfort, ergonomics and everyday living.
The HiP Award is presented by the renowned American magazine Interior Design as part of a programme that recognises the industry's most innovative products and professionals while celebrating outstanding achievements in commercial interior design. The Richter Collection was awarded in the Hospitality category, further confirming its relevance for contemporary hospitality, public and workplace environments.
Presented during the U.S. premiere of the Richter Collection, these recognitions affirm the enduring relevance of Richter's ideas and their ability to respond to contemporary needs in residential, workplace and public settings.
The collection is on view at Prostoria's showroom in The Mart (3rd Floor, Suite 381) as well as at the Prostoria Flagship Store at 303 West Illinois Street in Chicago's River North district.
